The Department of Computer Science incorporates all professors, scientific and non-scientific employees and students (with the right to vote) of Computer Science. These status groups are allowed to elect representatives (or run for representative) for the faculty coulcil (FBR, german: “Fachbereichsrat”), which then represent them for a year (students, the others are elected for three years).
The FBR deploys commissions and committee. The most important ones are listed below:
- The Expert committee for Study and Teaching (FSL, german: “Fachausschuss für Studium und Lehre”) is concerned with all questions linked with the course of studies.
- The Examination Board decides about admission to the course of studies and regulation of isolated cases.
- The PhD-Board has similar tasks for regarding PhD students.
